ABOUT THE PERFORMERS
Troy Kinne
In the early days of his stand-up comedy career, Troy won almost every new comic competition in the country. The Comic's Lounge 'You Gotta be Joking' competition saw him receive the prize of a trip to New York to attend the American Institute of Comedy. He went on to perform at several well-known clubs in the U.S. including Caroline's on Broadway, Stand Up New York, Gotham Comedy club, the Laugh Factory, The Hollywood Comedy Store and The Comedy Cellar.
On returning to Australia Troy became a sought-after headline act for The Australian Armed Defence forces, Mining camps and Comedy clubs around the country. In 2010 Troy added some steady work alongside the comedy club circuit, becoming a content producer for the Fifi and Jules radio show and hostsing his own regular segment interviewing celebrity guests such as Seth Rogen, Josh Lawson, Simon Pegg and DJ Havana Brown.Troy has made guest appearances on TV and radio including Nova FM's Hughsie and Kate for breakfast, Hamish & Andy, Chrissie, Sam and Brownie, Have You Been Paying Attention, The Hundred with Andy Lee and The Comedy Channel's StandUp Australia.
However, Troy is mostly known for his own Sketch Comedy TV shows - KINNE (7 Mate) and KINNE TONIGHT (CH10). The KINNE show saw Troy nominated for the 2015 Logie Award for Most Outstanding Newcomer and a number of sketches from his shows have racked up millions of online views worldwide.
Troy's comedy is known for being extremely relatable. Proof of this is his video content constantly going 'viral' with his online following currently sitting at well over 1 million plus across all social media platforms.
Doug Chappel
Doug Chappel is a professional comedian with over 27 years experience, and is widely regarded as one of Australia's best live stand up comics. A multi award winning performer, with awards including the prestigious ‘Laughie Award’ during the Melbourne Comedy season for ‘Best Australian Act’ (2024), and the 'People's Choice Award' (2023).. Doug was also part of Triple M radio's 'Poets Day Friday' for 2 years, has appeared on numerous TV programs, been the headline act in some of the world's biggest Comedy Clubs & has performed on 5 continents in nearly 20 countries; including the US, Asia, Middle East and the UK. Additionally, Doug has had sold out Comedy Festival shows, entertained the troops in countries like Afghanistan, Dubai, the Solomon Islands and East Timor, been the feature act on cruise ships and has performed with acclaimed comedians such as, Dave 'Hughsey' Hughes, Jimeoin, Fiona O'Loughlan, Jim Jefferies, Kathy Griffin (US), Pauly Shore (US), Bert Kreischer (US), Joe Rogan (US) and Chris Rock (US).Doug was also the comedy director, resident comedian and co-host of Studio Australia’s variety television show ‘Armstrong Live’ for two seasons, and won the ‘Optus Award’ for ‘Best Entertainment’ in the late 90’s. Doug has since gone on to appear on numerous other TV programs such as Stingers, Offspring, Channel 7’s Good Friday Appeal, Stand Up Australia, Champagne Comedy, The Comics Box, The Platform, The Insiders, Today Tonight, The Weekly, The Project, A Current Affair and The Comedy Channel.
In 1999 Doug took over as producer of the ‘Looney Bin Theatre Restaurant’ in Melbourne, where he wrote, directed and starred in the award winning show for five years. Doug has also performed live in some of Australia’s most prestigious venues, such as The Enmore Theatre, The Sydney Opera House, The Athenaeum Theatre, The Melbourne Arts Centre, Regent Theatre, The Melbourne Cricket Ground and twice at Telstra Dome (now Marvel Stadium), where he performed to crowds in excess of 44,000 people.
Joe White
Joe White, formal name Tilahun Hailu is one of the most exciting comedians in Australia.Winner of Fringe World best comedy weekly awards alongside Tom Gleeson and Tim Ferguson, Ethiopian - Australian comedian Joe White is the only Ethiopian comedian to perform sold out solo shows at the biggest arts festival in the world, the Edinburg Fringe in Scotland.
A recipient of the West Australian Newspaper comedy choice award and one of six siblings born to Ethiopian parents Yezina and Mulu, Joe has always tried to find the upside in life and this has been his inspiration for pursuing comedy. He has experienced many hardships in life and this has taught him the value of laughter, now his passion is to make others laugh too.
With performances at the Sydney Opera House to 2,500 people as part of Just For Laughs and appearances on Australian national TV and radio Joe White is bound to be a star. Joe White's solo show 'Ethiopian & Still Not Hungry' sold thousands of tickets nationally and internationally winning him "Best Comedy" and
"Critics Choice" awards at Fringe World Perth. With millions of views online and thousands of fans globally, these days you can find him touring nationally, and internationally, working on TV shows, and radio or performing at corporate events, Joe White is an act not to be missed!
Sonia Dilorio
Sonia is a rising star of the comedy stage, she's opened for Ronny Chieng (Hamer Hall, 2019), performed at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl (Tommy Little's Big Comedy Showcase, 2021) and at Splendour in the Grass (2018 &
2019). As well as a stack of great comedy shows all around Melbourne and the country.
In 2017 she won Comic of the year at one of Melbourne's hottest rooms, Spleen Comedy and in 2018 she began writing for Network Ten's 'The Project'.
