Missing Gorilla Reviews
"I would like to thank Jason and his staff for taking such good care of my family and friends who attended the Wake at "Missing Gorilla" on the 1st July... We were very happy with the way everything went. You definitely fulfilled your promise to look after us, and your attention to detail is very impressive indeed. You had your finger on the pulse from beginning to end, which allowed us to relax and enjoy our time there with our guests.
We received many positive comments from people regarding the venue itself, and the delicious food you served. Quite a few local friends in attendance said they were planning on coming back for dinner so I hope they do. Another couple said they had been for dinner recently and thoroughly enjoyed their meal. My granddaughters loved the Kids hangout. I hardly saw them the entire time we were there. You really have a unique venue there, it's an amazing space, with optional areas - like the private room, and of course the balcony, which was very popular with the younger generation and I can imagine how nice it would be out there on a balmy summers night. Unlike all the other restaurants in Eltham, your space is a real point of difference, allowing you to adapt and cater for a variety of different functions." - Cheryl P. (Email) "About 15 of us all bombarded the place at once and spent the afternoon drinking and snacking. Fabulous venue, excellent drinks, great prices, awesome kids section & fabulous, attentive staff. Unfortunately most of us don’t even live nearby let alone in the state or else we’d be back regularly! Highly recommend for a fantastic time!". - Casey T. (Google)
"Felt welcome immediately.
Large indoor area and nice balcony. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Quite a small menu but still ample choice, including woodfired pizza, delicious sticky fried chicken, woodfired lamb shoulder and shared plates. Most expensive dish is $30pp for 2, so great value. Highly recommend you visit." - Clare Pettigrew (Google) |
"The lamb melted in our mouths. The red wine jus was divine. And all the accompanying veggies were on point. Thanks to the team for such a lovely Sunday lunch." - Andrew P. (Facebook)

"What an amazing place to dine in. This place has only opened in the last few weeks. Imagine spacious seatings, engaging service and what makes this place special is you can try the beers and wines before buying. The ambiance of the venue changes some nights with a live band and dim lights.
I loved the Margherita pizza which was baked fresh and the crispiness of the crust. The toppings are light enough to not make the base soggy. The sticky fried chicken is one of their signature dishes. The chicken is so tender with the crisp tangy yet sweet sauce. The consistency of the sauce is just right. Grass fed porterhouse steak was so tender and juicy. For those who love crispy chips, I'd recommend trying it. Sticky date was a great dessert for those who love sweetness. The warmness of the pudding made it more delicious to eat. Although the sauce was overly sweet, it did compliment the pudding well."- Vanessa W. (Facebook) "Best of the best!!! Loved their woodfire pizza so much!! Food was absolutely delicious, the interior design is very romantic and cosy, perfect place for a romantic date, family event or business meeting. Absolutely love this place !!!"- Michelle Zhao (Google)
"This is your local that does a bit of everything. A laid back and friendly vibe awaits where you can find some quality craft beers on tap and a wide ranging menu with some space to move. A pool table, live music and streaming sport means there is a bit of something for everyone and I would say this is more of a group venue than a romantic date spot. I could definitely see myself coming back here on the regular with friends. As a new local I'm happy to have this place down the road. Eltham is starting to evolve and it's cool to see!" - Christopher Irving (Google)

"The slow roasted lamb for Mother’s Day melted off the bone. It was a wonderful lunch out with the family for a special occasion. Anthony and Jason are great hosts walking around and getting to know everyone. We will be back." - Caroline A. (Facebook)
"Our dining experience at the Missing Gorilla was and absolute delight. We celebrated a family birthday and it was the perfect venue. So much so I think we're booking again for another family birthday later in the year. Food of course was the highlight - the shared plates were a huge hit and the pizza's and mains brought out were spectacular. Our table had an equal mix of adults, teens and kiddies - with many of us enjoying the pool table and the kids enjoying the play area. The staff were very attentive and friendly, and they made sure we had everything we needed. Most certainly a memorable and enjoyable late afternoon had at the MG." - Dan T. (Google)
"Very friendly staff, affordable and amazing quality food! The few in the sun on the balcony overlooking Eltham was a beautiful way to start the day, with a yummy coffee too!" - Alexander. C (Google)

"Don't monkey around, the Missing Gorilla will win. The service and food are superb, and all delivered with panache and a genuine desire to make your dining occasion memorable. We had a long table for a family celebration, but there are plenty of quiet nooks and romantic spots, if that is your wish. The menu is diverse enough to suit most palates, and the host and staff make every effort to make the experience feel special. I don't often give the 5 stars, but all the staff were attentive and professional, and we found The Gorilla. Ask about the drawing on the wall when you dine at this great spot."- William Smith (Google)
